Individual diners can now choose a wine to go with their specific food selection, knowing that their wine will be freshly opened and at its best. Not only will the wine be at its premium but half bottles provide flexibility in terms of choice, whether dining alone, in a couple or with a group.
You can now individually select your wine when dining with a group, rather than feeling obliged to conform to the majority preference.
Choose a wine for each course of your meal. Start your evening with bubbly then switch to wine with your dinner.
A group of diners can now pick 2-3 half bottles to share and have a little bit of wine to pair with different courses. Half bottles allow for interest and discernment during a restaurant meal with multiple courses.
When your partner has a different taste, your romantic evening can now run smoothly, without compromise: one of you can have white and the other red. Each of you can enjoy your wine of choice. Half bottles make this practical and affordable
For the diner who enjoys a glass or two of wine but cannot drink a whole bottle half bottles are economic. They are a perfect quantity for those dining alone or as BYO when going to a party. If you are driving, sharing a half bottle will keep you within a safe limit.
People are graduating from ‘wine by the glass’ as it is a matter of chance as to how long the bottle has been opened. When a bottle has been opened for 2 or 3 days, quality is compromised. A freshly opened half bottle ensures you are getting the best.

Opihi Vineyard wines are available as half (375ml) bottles.
