Pinot Gris 2009

Fresh and almost dry style, deliciously smooth and with a lovely Pinot Gris fruit statement which will continue to unfold. Delightful drinking with light food courses and nibbles from now on, through into 2012 if stored carefully.

Chardonnay 2009

Dry wine with very good fruit pick-up. Made to be delicate and elegant, a lovely food style which will open up nicely through 2010 and offer a Chardonnay with finesse for at least two years after that. Ideal with food from the sea and lightly spiced pasta or Asian meals.

Opihi Riesling 2009

A delicate style, elegant, well-fruited and just off dry with a hint of sweetness to balance the wine. The fragrance is very refreshing, a Riesling enjoyable with snacks and antipasto and unfolding nicely to suit grilled or barbecued fish and freshly roasted golden chicken perfectly. Young, showing its class and a delicious regional statement.

Muller Thurgau 2009

The long history of this label in New Zealand has inspired the continuation of the very popular, lightly sweet style, made from a grape variety developed in Germany, in similar conditions to ours. Fruity, light and refreshing when served lightly cool on a warm day, especially with a summer salad.

Pinot Gris 2008

Aromas of figs, wild honeycomb, pears and cream, married with bright nectarine flavours  and gentle phenolics.

55 examples of PG, described by the judges as: "Pale with green tints. Aromatic notes of herb and a little lychee on nose. Quite rich and oily in the mouth with a degree of residual sweetness too. Pleasant melon and pear flavours in moderate concentration and finishing with nice depth." — Wine NZ Magazine, Autumn 2009 issue.

 

Riesling Spätlese 2008

Aromas of crushed rocks, blossom and spice combine with wild honey sweetness and bright acidity. Medium sweet style.

TIZwine Aromatics Tasting, May 2009. Consumers Choice.
Tasting notes:Light in colour but big on aromas - rose petals and violets. The palate exhibits decent ripe fruit with underlying spice
along with a taut acidity. Went down well with the consumers.
